Advising Office Assistant - Tutoring Support Services

Requirements

Reporting to the Coordinator of Learning Support Services, the Office Assistant will use his/her working knowledge of general tutoring support service practices and excellent oral and written communication skills to support the activities of the Tutoring Support Services department in the Belmont Abbey College community. 

Work Schedule

The Office Assistant will work during hours of operation, Monday through Thursday. Scheduled hours, and days will be discussed with the Coordinator of Learning Support Services at the beginning of the semester.

Location

The positon is assigned to Tutoring Support Services and will be located in the Writing Center

Responsibilities

The work environment is an active and engaged setting. Duties included but are not limited to: Work Study students in Tutoring Support Services serve as initial office contact for students, faculty, staff, etc. Duties include answering routine questions and providing information about Tutoring Services. The job includes providing customer service and performing light clerical duties. The student will also assist with updating and maintaining the Tutoring Service’s social media presence and assist with the design of flyers, graphics, and other marketing materials. The student will also collaborate and support Tutoring staff with new ideas for engagement, events, and workshops. Other duties as assigned. Must be eligible for federal work study.
