Marketing Marketing Office Assistant

Requirements

Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Marketing Office Assistant will use his/her working knowledge of general College Relations practices, and excellent oral and written communication skills to support the activities of the College Relations department in the Belmont Abbey College community. The Marketing Office Assistant is responsible for providing general assistance and other relevant College Relations duties. May be assigned occasional evening duties (on campus events).

The ideal candidate possesses maturity, outgoing personality, creativity, punctuality, dependability, flexibility, accuracy and must be able to follow instructions. Must be trustworthy due to the exposure to confidential and sensitive information. The candidate must be self-motivated and able to pay attention to minute details. The work environment is a general office setting with limited strenuous physical demands – able to climb 3 flights of stairs and move boxes up to 55 lbs. Must be willing to handle other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule

The Marketing Office Assistant will make his or her own schedule at the beginning of the semester. The supervisor is flexible with schedule according to class schedules. The Marketing Office Assistant should expect to work between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM, and may be required to work some evenings and weekends for special events.

Location

The Marketing Office Assistant will work primarily in the offices of College Relations, located on the 3rd floor of Stowe Hall.

Responsibilities

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Word Processing
  • Knowledge of Social Media
  • Writing
  • Photography skills is a plus
  • Editing/Proofreading
  • Web CMS Knowledge is a plus
  • Telephone contact
  • Scan & update the BAC website for accuracy or outdated material/photos
  • Scan newspaper/magazine/web articles and process as directed
  • Copying, collating, and the distribution of materials
  • May include some evening assignments – on campus events

The successful candidates will have an exemplary work ethic, be able to assist the College Relations Marketing Department staff, understand the “big picture” while also not be afraid to roll up his or her sleeves to do the work that will support an administrative community that nourishes the mind, body, and spirit of the whole student.
