Monastery Benedictine Volunteer Corps Assistant

Requirements

Reporting to the Director, the Benedictine Volunteer Assistant will support the activities of the BVC in the monastic community.

 

The Benedictine Volunteer Corps is a program sponsored and hosted by the monastic community at Belmont Abbey. Its purpose is to recruit and send four (4) volunteers each year to a monastery in the Benedictine Confederation to do volunteer work in their schools or other ministries. Any graduating senior from Belmont Abbey College is eligible to apply.

Our volunteers serve for 9 months. We are currently in a relationship with a community in India to send two men and two women for service in the next few months.  

 

 

Work Schedule

The Benedictine Volunteer Corps Assistant will make his or her own schedule at the beginning of the semester, averaging 4 to 10 hours per week. The supervisor is flexible according to class schedules.

Location

The Benedictine Volunteer Corps Assistant will work in the Monastery and remotely.

Responsibilities

Update and maintain all of the social media platforms used by the Benedictine Volunteer Corps. S/He would also be responsible for coordinating the application and acceptance process, and keeping the program’s files and archives up to date.
